Lake Yunoko and Yumoto Hot Spa are located in altitude of 1478m, and these are surrounded by mountains, which are over 2000m high. This area is a good place for fishing, camping, skiing, bird watching, hiking and mountain climbing. Visitors can have a fan through the year.

*Bird Watching
You can observe the following birds around the Yumoto Hot Spa. Summer (May - September) Martin, Grey Wagtail, Arctic Warbler, Japanese Bush-Warbler, Meadow Bunting, Narcissus Flycatcher, European Robin, and so on. Winter (November - February) Tufred Duck, Smew Throughout the year Coal Tit, Willow Tit, Great Tit,velvet-Fronted Nuthatch, Winter Wren, Mallard and so on.
*Camping
There is only one site for camping in Yumoto Hot Spa area. It is called Oku-Nikko Yumoto Camping Village. There are cottages, 150 tents are available in the space. Also, capacity of the parking lot is 120 cars.
*Fishing
Fishing season in the Lake Yunoko is from May to September. Nijimasu (Rainbow trout), Himemasu (Sockeye salmon) and Honmasu (Authentic trout) are available. Also, boat fishing and shore fishing are available. In addition to that, you can observe spawning scene of the Himemasu and the Honmasu at the Oojiri wooden bridge from early September to the mid-November.

*Skiing
Yumoto Skiing area is located near the hot spring Street. Both family members and experts can enjoy skiing because there are various kinds of skiing course. There are 5 facilities of chair lift. You will have a magnificent view at Shirane Panorama Course. That course starts from the 4th lift (Altitude of 1800m).
