*Saijo -Rest room of the God-

There is no sculpture and color in this building. The frontage is about 16.2m, and 3.6m deep. It is rectangular building. There are 9 lacquered toilets inside and these are in a line. The Saijo is not open to the general public, but is not used by anyone either. Crest of all buildings in Toshogu is Mitsuba-aoi (Three leaves of a hollyhock in a circle) except the Saijo. The crest of the Saijo is Mitsudomoe (The interlocking "three teardrop").


The Saijo is the rest room only for the God.
