*Ishinoma (Room of Stone)

Ceiling of the Ishinoma

The Ishinoma is located in between Haiden oratory and Honden main hall. Floor of the Ishinoma is covered by tatami mat. However, this room was stone corridor in the past. The name of the room derived from the stone corridor. The Ishinoma has an important function to connect the Honden (God's world) and the Haiden (Human world). Therefore, festivals of Honsha (Main shrine) are carried out in this room.
