*Yashamon Gate

Four female devils are enshrined in the Yashamon Gate

There are Shourou (Bell Tower) and Korou (Drum Tower) after you passed through the Nitenmon Gate. Also, there are 33 pairs of lanterns around. Those lanterns have been made of copper. Those were dedicated by rich Japanese feudal lords.

The Yashamon Gate is located after the lanterns. The Yashamon Gate enshrines four female devils. Color of each body expresses the East, the West, the South and the North.

The Yashamon Gate is decorated by the arabesque pattern, which is arranged with design of peony. The Yashamon Gate also is called Botanmon Gate. The Botan is peony in English.
