Honden main room is located next to the narrow
Ainoma room, but the Honden is not open to the public. Many skills
are applied to this building because the principal image is enshrined
there.
Size
of the building is 10 square meters. It is smaller than Haiden,
but has a deep structure.
Inside
the hall, many sculptures are decorated. The Honden also is called
Kinkakuden (Golden Hall) because of rich gold color.
Also,
there is Gokuden Hall in front, and image of Buddha is hidden inside.
In deep right, memorial tablets of successive Shogun are put in
a line.
There
are plenty of sculpture such as giraffe, scrollwork of peony, gold
dragon, and two-headed rhinoceros. The Honden is luxurious because
of its importance.
