sea around the station, while altitude of Mt. Shirane is 2578

of the mountain. This phenomena is called Kazahana (Flowers
in the wind).
Moreover, it will be foggy after you passed
through the Akechidaira Plateau, east of Lake Chuzenji, around
Kegon Waterfall (Altitude of 1274m). The foggy weather is influenced
by landscape of Mt. Nantai, which has southeast slope.
Climbing up more, the
weather often will change rapidly in a day such as sunny, cloudy,
and foggy and rain (snow in the winter).
Especially in the rainy season, the weather of central Nikko
is different from the weather of Oku-Nikko such as Senjogahara
Plateau and west of Lake Chuzenji. It is because the Oku-Nikko
is not influenced by the rainy season very much. Therefore,
you should not give up the hiking in Oku-Nikko. You should check
