*Akanuma

According to a myth, there was a pond long time ago, and the pond was colored by blood of the conflict. Color of blood is "aka", and pond is "numa" in Japanese. The name of Akanuma was derived from the myth. Today, that pond has been changed to marshland. Akanuma is an entrance of Senjogahara Plateau. You will get off the bus stop there and go to "Road of Natural Study of Senjogahara Plateau" for hiking. You will find the entrance soon near the bus stop. Also, Akanuma is a starting point of Low-Pollution Hybrid Bus, which runs for Odashirogahara plateau and Senjugahama.
