*Toyoma Bishamon-doh Hall

Viewing the sunrise from Mt. Toyama.
It is told that worshippers were watched from there.

You will see a slightly elevated mountain when you come close to Kanzandoh Hall. That mountain is called Mt. Toyama. A building on the mountain is Bishamondoh Hall. It is located on the ominous direction for Sanbutsu-doh Hall and Toshogu Shrine. Generally speaking, the ominous direction is north of certain place. It is believed that demons come from the ominous direction. In this sense, the Toyoma Bishamondoh was built to protect shrines and temples of Nikko.

The Bishamonten God has been worshipped as a lucky god because business people can borrow money from the Bishmondoh Hall. Especially, many people gather on January 3rd, when the festival carried out. Also, view from the Mt. Toyama is magnificent.

General public worships Toyoma Bishamonten God.
