There will be the Haiden Oratory after you passed the Shinmon
gate. This building is single layered curvature and Irimoya style
roof. The Irimoya style is that two styles of roof are combined.
Upper part of the roof seems to be a triangle because it is made
from two slopes, which are put on both sides of a ridge. You will
find gables there. Also, lower part of the roof has eaves on all
sides, and this construction is called Kiritsuma style.
In addition, entire building is vermilion lacquered, but roof
is tiled by black lacquered copper.
There are stone steps in
the center of front, and double door after the stairs. Other doors
are latticed and made to protect inside from storm and sunlight.
There are downstairs in the inner Haiden, and passage connects
to the Honden main hall through the Karamon gate.
Although, Haiden Oratory is the
place, where many people visit, and busy for regular festivals,
Yayoi festival and praying, there is no decoration such as sculptures
and patterns. It is simple, but strong.
The actual date of construction
is not known, but maybe from 1644 to 48.
