Parishioners shoot arrows to Mt. Akagi on January 4th. This event is derived from a myth. According to a legend, god of Mt. Futara and god of Mt. Akagi had a conflict for territorial possession. Participants and shooters shout when they shoot the arrow.

The god of Mt. Akagi transformed himself to a giant centipede, and the god of Mt. Futara transformed himself to snake. They fought in today's Senjogahara Plateau. The god of Mt. Futara won finally. That is why parishioners shoot against Mt. Akagi.
