Short stroll around Lake Chuzenji

There are two hiking courses starting from Natural Science Museum in Chuzenji spa. In addition, day-long course, which is available in a particular season is recommended. You are suggested to schedule carefully because there are many scenery spots.

1. Omotesandou front approach course
*Course information

You will walk the front approach for Futarasan Chugushi Shrine. Also, you will pass the Nantai Street, where Chuzenji observatory is located.

*Time required

Natural Science Museum (Rest room available) (3 minutes) Red Torii gate, Maiden stone, 13 minutes (You will pass the Kohantei-mae bus stop, turn right at the next road) Chuzenjiko Observatory (12 minutes) Futarasan Chugushi Shrine (30 minutes) (5 minutes by regular bus, Natural Science Museum

2. Tachiki Kannon course
*Course information

You appreciate Kegon waterfall first, then walk south coast of lakeside to Utagahama, where Tachiki Kannon is located. You will get on the motorboat to go back, and enjoy viewing the lakeside from the motorboat.

3. Summer course(One-day long)
*Course information

This course is available from July 10th to August 31st, when Chuzenji motorboat operates.

Natural Science Museum (Rest room available), 3 minutes, Ohjiri boat stop (Rest room available), 30 minutes by motorboat, Senjugahama (Rest room available), 45 minutes, Lake Sainoko, 30 minutes, Sainoko-iriguchi bus stop, 13 minutes by Low-pollution Hybrid bus, Odashirogahara Plateau-(Rest room available, wait for an hour to the next bus and you may stroll around), 15 minutes by hybrid bus, Akanuma (Rest room available), 20 minutes by regular bus (Get on the bus for Chuzenji spa or Nikko station), Natural Science Museum
