*Akechidaira Observatory

You will enjoy scenery views such as Mt. Nantai, Lake Chuzenji, Kegon waterfall, Shirakumo waterfall and rocky screen at the observatory. It is one of the best places to observe. You will be able to look at Mt. Tsukuba in Ibaraki prefecture and Pacific Ocean when the weather is sunny and air is clean.
A fixed-point camera is set there, and the view from the observatory often is broadcasted on the NHK TV program. Also, this area is known as the best place for variety of azalea such as pink, violet and white. You will see pink azalea from May to June, and violet and white will bloom afterwards. In addition, autumnal leaves are wonderful there. You will enjoy the scenery view in different colors through the year.
